Textures of Wellness: Elevating Altaer Sauna’s Brand
When you combine nature, wellness, and intentional design—you get something really special. That’s exactly what happened during my recent collaboration with Altaer Sauna, a mobile sauna rental and custom sauna building company located just off the coast of Cape Cod.
Altaer has gained national attention, with features in Vogue, Dwell, and other top wellness and lifestyle publications—and for good reason. Their saunas are rooted in elemental luxury. Every build invites you to slow down, ground yourself, and reconnect to the healing rhythm of contrast: warmth and cool, fire and water, wood and salt air.
We planned two half-day photo shoots to fully capture the essence of two separate Altaer builds. With a focus on branding and editorial storytelling, I approached this project not just as a photographer, but as someone deeply immersed in the world of wellness. My background as a yoga instructor and wellness content creator means I understand how brands like Altaer aren’t selling a product—they’re offering a full-body, soul-deep experience.
Each photo was crafted with intention. I emphasized the beauty of texture: the grain of charred cedar, the smooth surfaces of stone benches, and the soft metallic finishes that pick up hints of light and flame. The contrast between the heat of the sauna and the cool ocean blues in the background became a grounding theme throughout the shoot. My coastal-inspired brand voice always leans into natural textures and color palettes, and this collaboration was such an organic extension of that.
