And growing up in this history-soaked town, I never imagined that its literary roots would eventually help shape my career as a photographer. How Working with Writers Became My Niche
When I first opened my photography studio, my focus was broad: portraits, weddings, events, creative shoots. But as I began networking locally—I naturally started connecting with fellow creatives from authors, poets, to aspiring novelists.
It started small: a headshot for a local published author. Word spread. And before long, photographing writers became one of my most requested services. What surprised me most wasn’t just the demand—but how much I loved it. Writers have a similar creative thought process when planning their sessions with me. They know who they are (even if they’re still figuring it out on paper), and they come to a shoot with a story to tell. My job? To help visually tell that story.
